Starlink Mini Mounting Kits: What You Get and What You Need
The Starlink Mini ships with a basic kickstand for temporary use — it is not a permanent mount. If you want to install Mini on a roof, wall, pole, or vehicle, you'll need a mounting kit. Here's exactly what you need and which third-party kits are worth buying.
What Comes With Starlink Mini
Starlink Mini includes a kickstand base for temporary flat-surface placement and a 5-meter cable. No roof hardware, no pole adapter, no wall bracket is included. The mounting foot accepts a standard 1.5" pipe thread adapter — this is the universal standard for third-party mounts, which means the accessory ecosystem is large and well-priced.
What a Full Mounting Kit Should Include
Best Complete Mounting Kits
The most complete all-in-one mounting kit available for Mini. Includes the pipe adapter, mounting bracket, all hardware, and cable clips. Fits standard 1.5" pipe threads and works on roofs, poles, and walls. Read the included instructions — full install takes about 45 minutes.
If you already have a pole or J-mount installed from a previous dish, this adapter lets you attach the Starlink Mini directly to your existing hardware. No new pole needed. The most affordable upgrade path for anyone coming from a previous satellite dish.
Surface-Specific Installation Notes
Roof Installation
Use lag bolts into roof rafters — never just into the roof decking. Seal every penetration with roofing butyl tape or self-leveling sealant. Run cable through a dedicated weatherproof gland, never just along the shingles where it will degrade from UV and temperature cycling.
Pole Installation
Concrete the pole base at least 18" deep for wind stability. The Mini's 1.5" pipe adapter fits standard schedule 40 pipe. Position the pole to avoid shadows from trees or the roofline during peak hours (9am–5pm local time).
Vehicle / RV Installation
See our dedicated Starlink Mini RV Mount guide → for vehicle-specific hardware and no-drill options.
Wall Installation
A J-pole bracket mounted to the fascia or a gable end is the cleanest solution. Run cable through the wall via a weatherproof gland. See our Starlink Mini Wall Mounts → guide for detailed hardware options.
